@MarkA,

You don't use any vehicle bluetooth profile, if I understand you correctly.

The Vgate iCar Pro BLE 4.0 connects directly to the Car Scanner Pro app in your phone via Bluetooth 4.0 (needs a newish phone)

Clear instructions are given with the Vgate unit. it's neccessary to select the correct vehicle type in the app, you can use "Demo" mode for this, and the app will remember all settings when you make the real connection.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: One more thing, be careful about which Vgate unit you buy, there are a LOT of the old ones on the net.
I think mine was £27 on Amazon IIRC. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

I bought the gate from Amazon so should be ok, it’s the connection profile within the app that I wasn’t clear on and using the basic land rover connection didn’t see all the sensors.

Will update to the 4.4 one and review my outputs tonight.

Thanks both

I actually have the wifi vgate, the app works with both wifi or BT Vgates.
The wifi address comes up as VLink, also noticed that now and then it is not discoverable so unplug vgate momentarily and reinsert solves that.
I choose wifi just to be different lol as I already had a BT AP200 which I use on DTC etc

Agree use Amazon as a few Chinese copies that dont work are circulating, at least with amazon you can return it easily enough. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

Why JLR, for the sake of another lite on the dash!

Pleased you didn’t let it rest, very informative. I’m not ajac, I’m not a surveyor, but I like my colour as well .

Does anyone know if the new 460 has the missing regen light … would be handy Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. So…. With all this info available , why doesn’t JLR put it on display. I wouldn’t use it 99 percent of the time , but for my £ 125,000. I would like to decide if I want to use it or not. With this new super screen on the 460, will this info be more easily displayed using a widget interface thingy ( technical term) ? Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. It would be easy for JLR to put this info on the screen after all the vgate is getting this information from the Bus through the obd port.
But someone somewhere in JLR doesn't want joe public to see all the available parameters.

Regarding the 460 and later 405 they use D300/D350 engines there was some talk on here that fuel dilution issue has been controlled by the dpf being moved to a different position. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

Germany 2019 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Montalcino Red

Hello
So I set this up on my car.
So the trigger is at 92/93% so I assume that a Regen will happen soon. At the moment the Km until next service is climbing.

So during a short drive I saw that a passive Regen happen for a minute.

So I had a new DPF fitted under warranty but I don’t think it has made a difference. SDV8 AB MY 2020

Is it a 3.0 V6? as a member in the RRS group had the same issues as you and stopped using it as it was not compatible. Is it OK if you use the basic obd II profile?

I also wonder if the can bus is different on the older models (pre2016) as it is known that GAP tool doesn't support 2016+ L405 for same reason. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

Hi Kot, FYI:

Mine’s a TDV6 MY 2017, no issues with the hardware or software. Thumbs Up “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?
