Logic 7 specifications

Hi, I have searched hard from this forum, Google and Facebook groups for this with no luck.

I have common issue: both front low range speakers are blown.
So hence this is so common problem, I do not want to swap them to another original ones due to poor quality. Rather I want to put there something sturdier.

The problem is I can't find any information about the specs of those speakers, so I have no clue what to choose.

Only thing I can measure are physical dimensions.

What I need to know is output power, frequency range etc.

Can anyone help?

Regards

Try Pioneer, as they used to offer complete car sets.

Sorry, but this answer is by far off topic.

It’s not though, is it. He has pointed you in the direction of a company that used to, and maybe still does, make replacements as a set. You could Google them, and if you find them you might find the specs you are looking for.

You will have to replace like for like, or fit a matched component system in to the door. There is a thread somewhere about upgrades. I get what you are asking and if I remember right the factory speakers have an ohmage rating that makes substitution have less choice. It’s also an active system with the crossovers in the DSP unit.

Though I’m not sure anyone has actually replaced them with anything else. You might be the first if you do it…

Thank you for the information sir. 🙂

Sure all speakers have an impedance rating, but I can't find any firm information about that, it's not even written on the speaker. I've seen somewhere in the BMW forum, that BMW Logic 7 low range speakers are 2 ohm impedance, but then again BMW system is different.
I even wrote to Harman Kardon support and asked specs, but I don't hope much from them.
I'll search a little more and then go by gut feeling.

Cheers. 🙂

I've done some fault-finding on my system and can confirm that the bass drivers are ~2 ohm impedance. Given that all the channels are direct wired from the amplifier i.e. no passive cross-overs involved. The frequency range of any replacement speaker is largely irrelevant as the amp will only send a narrow frequency range to it anyway.
After visual inspection of the bass drivers, the most challenging part of finding a 3rd-party replacement will be matching the physical mounting I would think.
This extract from the workshop manual states the following:-
Logic7 System
The Logic7 amplifier drives 14 speakers on 5.1 surround channels; two front door mid-range, four front and rear door bass
woofers, two front and rear door tweeters on eight channels and a passive subwoofer as on the DSP system, but with two
additional surround sound speakers located in the upper tail door and a center surround speaker located in the fascia.
The Logic 7 system amplifier produces 720W of digital amplification to power the speakers.

720W sounds a lot but it doesn't state whether that is RMS or peak, or at what THD level so it's largely meaningless. But, if we humour them and do the maths then that means each channel is capable of delivering 720/11 = 65W. After looking at one of the door bass drivers the voice-coil looks like it should be capable of sinking that kind of power continuously, so provided you get something rated for at least 65W you should be fine.
BTW one of my bass drivers had fallen apart too, so I've just ordered a replacement on eBay for £25. Or you can buy a new one for £115 Whistle 2011 TDV8 4.4 Vogue SE in Galway Green with Black leather
