United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Baltic Blue

My camera was intermittent when I got it so ordered a PowefulUK replacement too.

Again, next day delivery and a nicely packed product too.

I bought a few things from them for nice, boot and bonnet lettering, reverse camera, and a front grill as mine had a nasty plastic chrome one on it.

It’s nice when you get little things like the reverse camera working again, isn’t it.

I need to do mine really, was it a pain to do or fairly straight forward?

Rear end strip down - rust

Over the weekend I removed the rear bumper and internal covers etc in preparation for a visit to the Bodyshop to repair the rust in the rear quarters. Driver side has had an attempted repair by someone in the past which wasn't very good to be honest. Passenger side is original and therefor in a bit of state. The only repair panel you can get doesn't go all the way back to the lights ,so the skill of my fabricator comes into play...

Rear Quarters and Arches

After 3 weeks in the Bodyshop its back with repaired rear quarters and arches looking like new. I just need to put it back together now Thumbs Up I asked for the bumper to remain off (also resprayed) as I'll be fitting new rear parking sensors after testing the loom for continuity, which it passed.

I'm very pleased with the results. I've been out and topped up every hole, box section etc with cavity wax this evening to add to what the Bodyshop put in. Also given it a coat of underseal on the inside of the wheel arches.

Couldn't agree more - I need to find someone to do a similar job on mine, what was the cost, roughly?

Thanks - Yes, he has cut out the old and replaced it with the new panel part really well. The Bodyshop has done a lovely job on the paint.

Total cost for Sills, rear quarters and arches was approx £1350 all in. I also had both sides repaired and resprayed below the swathe line of the doors as I had some scabs in the paint. Gavin

Wow...

For that price and a job like that I'd have a road trip and leave it with them for 3 weeks!

Amazing work at sensible money! Bow down

My sills are a bit iffy, but if I can get them and obviously the arches sorted for that sort of ball park figure then I am prepared to press the trigger. I'm in my 10th year of ownership and still get a thrill from wafting along in the beast. Costs a fortune to run but hey ho! Previous cars:
S-Max 2007-2013 (only diesel I've had, good car but expensive when diesely bits go wrong, so what's the point?)
Galaxy 2001-2007
Mondeo Estate 1997-2001
Sierra Estate 1993-1997
Uno Turbo 1987 -1993
Fiesta 1984 - 1987
Fiat 127 1982 - 1984

David.

Agreed - I'll get some prices locally to see how they match up, mind you, a round trip fuel cost would be a fair overhead these days....
