Hi My 2016 4.4 SDV8 AB seems to have a problem with regenerating the DPF. on code reader it says there have been 0 successful regenerations. To put it into context my brother in law has same car and it has 48 successful regens. Does anybody have any idea. I have had several yellow warnings "exhaust filter nearly full" and 2 Red warnings "exhaust filter full take vehicle to dealer" I have had the DPF cleaned at a reputable garage but warnings returned within a week. I do a mixture of long and short journeys. I am thinking it might be some sort of sensor issue. Thanks for any help/advice

you have an air leak, either your plenum pipes (there are 4) or an inlet manifold. Get a HIGH pressure test done asap.

On mine, the thermostat housing had been damaged by the garage whilst replacing the split inlet manifold which meant the engine never got hot enough to complete a full regen - there were lots of incomplete regens tho. Whats your count on those?

It's not the DPF that is root cause so cleaning it won't fix it.
An expert needs to check for intake leaks or other issues. How close are you to Dundee? Take it to MMP Land Rover and get Mikey to fix it

Hi there Im in Airdrie but I go to dundee fairly regularly so I might try Mickey. I am trying to understand the relationship between an air leak and the cars inabilly to do a regen any advice on this would be aprrieciated thanks

theres loads on this on the forum, do a search..also theres a massive thread in the L322 section that will explain what you need to know..

If your car wont regen then stg is inhibiting the process. could be a number of things. Temps not high enough to complete. speed not in range. Less than 1/4 tank of fuel. etc et.

read all the excellent DPF posts on here and you will emerge a DPF master

or just take it to Mikey and save yourself a heap of time, effort and searching on here.
