Update for you gents.

The garage conducted the smoke test today.

One of the four hoses that go to the inlet manifold had a split in it. I've agreed to replacing all four as I think it would be silly not to.

Should have the car back Monday!!

Excellent.

And I think the evidence just adds to the 'bible of common 4.4 TDV8 issues' aka whenever someone encounters an issue, they always seem to be the same ones. There seems to be little 'randomness' on this engine. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

I think LR056285 is the part number and all 4 are the same (don't quote me on that).

Take one off and measure it and Pirtek should be able to sell you a length of the stuff to the exact spec for probably 1/5 of the price. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Just to complete this little tale, I collected the car this morning and all is well again!

Cost of the job, all in, including VAT £275. The garage owner is a mate and always charges me trade rates.

Thanks again to all those that contributed to this post, very much appreciated.

Just when I thought it was sorted!!!!!

Just did around 50 miles in reduced performance mode AGAIN!! 80% of the journey was motorway, as I accelerated in the outside lane there was a sudden shudder and reduced performance mode kicked in straight away, within 2 miles DPF Full waves hello at me closely followed by the engine management light!

On my return home I removed the plastic engine cover to find little oily deposits in various places across the top and towards the front of the engine, see photos attached.

It's back to the garage on Monday.

Anybody ever experienced this before?

I'm seriously hacked off and am starting to regret buying the bloody thing!!

Look down the front of the engine where the turbo hoses enter the IC and see if one has popped off. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
