Thanks, I thought it might... Thumbs Up

Second day of ownership, no bong of doom just... "suspension fault max speed 30mph" suspension dropped a bit, not to access height but lower than usual and it went rock hard....

Tried a switch off and back on to no effect so drove home, then it kept saying "suspension will raise when system has cooled"

Oh well, have to get an IID straight away.... Pete

Pete, a warm welcome back friend. those rear shocks, are a bit of a mystery. and quite expensive. you need to speak to Sam from 'Sam's motor and machine' channel on youtube, he has a saga on here, with his rear shocks, and will no doubt have some advice.

Lol... it is still on the list... much longer fuel stops as the device that stops you putting petrol in has been triggered and the tool is nowhere to be found...!!

yellow tool should be in the boot, under the wheel cover, on right in a slot.

Rear shocks ( genuine Bilstein) are £200+VAT each from Island 4x4 and more ( a lot more) from other places. Fitting them is pretty easy DIY as long as the lower bolt is not seized. Aux belts , idlers and tensioner replacement is a normal wear item on these engines but DIY is a bit tricky due to the amount stuff to remove to get to it. Check for oil leak down the back of the engine and oil in the coolant expansion tank as the other common fail is the oil cooler but you may be lucky and it's already been done. Rest should be no different to your SC. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

John, I know where it should be but it is missing in action and has left the building... Rolling with laughter It's good to be back...

JayGee, cheers for the info, shame it's £200 PLUS Vat, still a reasonable price though...not sure if it is failed shocks, could be the dodgy wiring problem, I've not looked yet.. I'm more than happy to do some work on it, it will soon be kicked into shape...

Cooler looks new and seems bone dry from what I can see without dismantling anything and there is no burning oil smell so hopefully the O rings are Ok.

Idler replacement will be OK, I'll borrow a ramp from my mate and have it torn down no bother.... Thumbs Up

Suspension going rock hard is the last issue, suspension faulted then said "suspension will raise when system has cooled" which could indicate it has a leak and the compressor is working overtime to cope, it didn't drop an inch overnight though so it could be a few other things...

I need an IID to interrogate it...

It was a trade sale and some work was built into the deal so I'm more than happy to be back in a comfy and spacious fatty even if it does need some work... Thumbs Up Pete

i think the later 'active' bilstein dampers are more like £450 a pop. - as i said, watch/read Sam's dilemma.... https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic59154.html
mine is fine, if i'm ever up your way, i drop in, and you can drive it.

I was quoting for the late active dampers but as I said the prices vary quite a bit depending the supplier.

Usual reason is the wiring at the top of the shocks - it's like all the wiring on these vehicles and has no sleeve on the last few inches so easily get severed with wear and insulator age. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

..possibly, its the reason it was traded in. so, you might find, you got a car, with a problem, that you can sort, and the 'unknown' then becomes water under the bridge.

Could be, either that or they were fed up taking an hour to fill it up with the missfuel device sprung...!!!

I had a quick look this morning, it's sitting slightly low on the front offside, started the engine and it raised about an inch or so, switched off and got near the front wheel... now, I'm not scared of snakes but there is no way I'm sticking my head under there, there must be a huge hissing Sid wrapped around the strut.... Laughing

It must be the usual place on the fold and it self seals at a certain height...

I think this is new as it drove 100miles home fine and overheated the compressor within 10 miles yesterday...

IID coming from Black Hawk Solutions as they seem to be the cheapest at the moment

more wallet bending items coming from Island 4x4...

Should be a fun week, I get to play with a fatty again....

I have to get a move on as my good lady is dying to have a drive...

Life is good.... Thumbs Up

Anyone know what this is/does...??

Wiring to all four shocks is fine, no chaffing anywhere...

Fronts work fine, rears are very bouncy... I'll await the IID and see if anything comes up, otherwise new rear shocks to be fitted...

Can't do anything till Tuesday now so off to read the manual on the TDV8 engine.... sad, I know.... Laughing Pete
