When I did mine (2002) I made up separate panels to weld in parts of the sill I cut out. I had to cut more than necessary as the box section that takes the jacking point pad had rusted… so I had to make a box section and get that in first against the inner sill..… then put in a folded edge sill panel, around 18 inches long, and weld that in. Then attack the wheelarch. I wish I had taken some pictures now. Basically, the sill is almost all covered with the plastic cover, so you don’t need a smooth full length welded panel, just the amount that is necessary. Also, the wheelarch behind the door doesn’t get seen either. Mine were really bad. But a good job done. Alas, a couple years later, it got scrapped as covid struck, and couldn’t get a gearbox repair done… so got another l322! This time, no rust! Might it be possible to use one half sill section, to make two end sections?

Based on my 2007 L322, it’s really only the last 8-10 inches of the outer sill that’s needed but where it joins the inner & outer wheel arch and around the rear jacking point, the convoluted shape is the key area that would be a real help but seemingly no one’s making Big Cry

Reckon you’d sell loads if you could produce them Thumbs Up

If anyone has a good chassis cut of the arch to sill areas required, I'm more than happy to template and reproduce them as individual repair panels.

I agree with JCW. I only need about 6 inches of the sill & a couple of inches of the wheel arch. A repair panel covering those area would be brilliant. Let's hope someone comes up with a good section.

Chris - this is really tremendously good news - but the trouble I reckon is going to be finding anyone in the UK with a good chassis that has not rusted to Censored

maybe someone in Spain or California might offer us some hope Smile

Desperately trying to reply to the private messages I've had but I'm restricted and can't till I reach a certain post count I believe.
I don't want to spam the forum just to get this up and not seem ignorant.

Not sure if I can just reply to others posts or if I need to make my own 🤷
Can anyone offer some advice?
