@zenman63:

That looks neat actually, but does it give noticeably more output than say brake lights?

Fancy doing a write-up? Bow down “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

I have the same low reverse light problem but find it helps to see better quite a bit by turning on hazard lights when reversing. Just remember to switch them off after use. RR owner

Or ------ how about a brighter light that is wired into a towing socket plugs reverse light terminal in one piece that can be removed when needed for trailer pulling ?

Any body fancy inventing one, I'd buy it.! RR owner

It does light up yes, I need to repair it as it did fit and look factory.
When I rebuild it I will take pictures.
My Trailer rolled back into it and amazing it survived!

I am interested in how and where you wired it in. Looking at the lights available here.

The placement of the light is great. If I am looking at the photo correctly you mounted it from behind the cover and cut a long slot.

I might go for a surface mount where I need to drill 3 holes. One for the wires and 2 to mount. But I will make a version from cardboard to see if it looks funny and sticks out too much. SDV8 AB MY 2020

@Luxmoggy:

I “think” you can get the plastic towbar cover cheaply on AilExpress, so a flushmount would then be an option and look much neater? Whistle

Surface mounted anything on a FullFat dear boy? No, no, no! Shocked Laughing “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

@Gremlin500

Thank you for the link. If I order now should get it at the end of February. So have time to choose light and think about the wiring. SDV8 AB MY 2020

This seems to be the story of my Range Rover. I have a different part. As I have the deployable tow bar, I need a different cover (VPLGB0154), which of course isn't on AliExpress.

I am looking for options now. SDV8 AB MY 2020

I have one you can have for cost of postage. But, postage may be a bit expensive.

It’s wired with a IP rated water resistant plug directly in the tow bar wires, very simple.

The light comes in an acrylic strip and that needs to curve and the bumper panel is curved, only a bit but it’s not flat.
I then bonded on the back.
It only just fits as there is very little space behind it.
I have ordered a new panel and will mill out another and take some pictures.

I was looking at the panel today (I didn't take it off). The driveway is still wet and I didn't fancy undoing the screws - I don't want a bad back. But I can see there isn't much room.

@Zenman63
I am thinking of the series 285 light but mounted from behind as you did, as it is thinner. Also, the lens would be more in the cutout. What are your thoughts? SDV8 AB MY 2020
