I was wondering if retrofitting the surround cameras (especially the bumper ones) is possible on a car without the vision assist pack. According the LR, the surround system has two cameras in the front bumper, one in each wing mirror and the rear reverse camera.

The junction view would be really useful where I live but not bothered by the wing mirror view so thinking maybe if I installed the bumper ones and activated it would just show the cameras that are connected.

Would I need a new front bumper loom, or separate camera one and would it just plug in and if connected would it just need activating using the IIDTool?

Or would it be much more complicated and a nightmare to do? Tom

IIHO they are a gimmick and a bit of a waste of time, the angle puts a car in view a split second longer, not enough to aid you pulling out as you have both ways AND the camera to check before pulling out...

Also it's several button presses to get the view up by which time you could be out already....
