It always self levels to the ground when jacking up.

How do you stop it ? Seriously ... how?

Over the couple of years I've had with the L405, I've tried various combinations of having the doors and / or tailgate ( upper and lower ) open when jacking up the L405, and it feels like everytime its poos its pants and tries to self-level ... leaving itself squat on the ground on the other 3 corners. Which is a monumental pita sometimes.

So ... what's the trick ? Is there a definitive lockout method ? V8 or else ...

Have you tried pressing and holding the suspension button down to lock, that should bong and that should lock in lowest position? Always works for me.

I always jack mine up from access height, and never have had any issues.
It seems a dumb idea I know, but my reasoning is, if the air suspension decides to let go for any reason, you have less chance of getting crushed? Or, is that totally dumbass? Embarassed
I have a 3Te trolley jack with 560mm of lift, so height isn’t a problem.
Surely if the ignition is off, it shouldn’t be able to self-level anyway?
Always use wood blocks/axle stands/wheel wedges under there as well of course, (I don’t mean Fisha/DrF, you guys know your stuff, just any newbies who may be reading this), these are seriously heavy vehicles, and can decide to do their own thing at a moments’ notice, if the vehicle is “live”. V6 Vogue - “Less is More” - less to go wrong!

I've heard various things over the years, hazard lights on, boot open & a door open was the most popular. Others have said just a door open will stop any levelling.

I've never had a problem with just being in park, handbrake on & ignition off.

What are you trying to jack it up with ? I've got a 3T trolley jack & it seems to just lift it up without a problem, albeit it does end up quite high.....

I swap winter & summer wheels, so jack all 4 corners twice a year.

My Wife's P38 self levels whenever it feels like it, even after hours of being switched off. Not sure if they carried this curious feature on to the 405 but I always lock mine in access and it seems to behave.
On the X350 Jag I have to take a fuse out or it will try to lower no matter what I do and the end result is always, suspension on the bump stops and it's a PITA to get the jack out.

Jack height / reach isn’t the problem for me. Ideally I would like to be able to park up in off-road height, jack one corner to get the wheel off, and all other corners remain in off-road height.

To me that means I get the best access under the car… and also keeps the car as flat as possible when jacked. But it often then self levels and drops to the bump stops … this make access under harder, and also when it does it it starts pulling and moving on the jack and angling the car which I think is unsafe. V8 or else ...

The Classic and P38 wake up every few hours and level. I believe the idea is that if there is a slow leak, the car remains level rather than down in one corner.

I don't know if the newer ones do it. They probably do, but are less prone to leaking!
