Trailer detection fault possibly

2020 Autobiography SDV6.

Traveling back from France not towing anything, I noticed that the TFR displayed was displaying the incorrect speed limit. After stopping for a break, noted that the car was not automatically dropping to access height, the rear Parking sensors and the blind spot monitoring system was disabled.

The trailer symbol flashes when the lefthand indicator is selected but not with the right hand indicator or hazard flashers.

I checked the towbar wiring as far as possible without removing the bumper including checking the resistance in the earth circuit which was 0.

I also connected a caravan, everything works as it should.

There are no fault codes showing on my I car soft or Top Don Scanners.

I am assuming that the issue must be connected to the left hand indicator circuit but I don't seem to be able to locate a fuse for that circuit.

Any ideas chaps?

I checked everything again and all the systems with the caravan connected, everything works exactly as it should with the caravan connected, I am thinking that the car is detecting a significant load from the left hand indicator circuit, high enough to believe there is a trailer connected, could this be due to a poor earth connection on one of the left hand indicators. I have been unable to find any information on exactly where the earth points are and how to access them on a 2020 Autobiography.

Disconnecting the dedicated tow socket wiring harness has no effect on the issue however removing load space fuse 44 trailer socket, corrects the anomaly and everything works as it should, with a caravan connected the detection system works as it should as do the lights etc on the caravan.

I also checked the earths in both front wheel arches and the base of the LH A Post.

I am now completely confused!

I have a utility trailer that works perfectly. It has incandescent lights. Trailer lights worked fine when connected.

I rented a dump trailer a few weeks ago. Blind spot detection errors, rear parking sensors would not disable when reversing, and wouldn’t flash the trailer icon in the gauge cluster when signalling. It has LED lights. Trailer lights worked fine when connected.

Might be something with the incandescent vs. LED lights. Dan. 🇨🇦 2013 L405 5.0 SCV8

Thanks for your response.
The car appears to detect a trailer even though one is not connected, the systems like BSM, auto access height and parking sensors are disabled, the trailer symbol flashes on the dash but only if indicating left.

Removing fuse 44 enables them all and the car behaves as it should without a trailer detected.
I think fuse 44 is probably the permanent live to a trailer socket.

The trailer socket and loom all check out, and the earths are ok.

My caravan has led lighting with resistors in circuit and behaves exactly as it should when connected.

I think there could be an unusual resistance in the cars Left hand indicator circuit, the car shows no fault codes so, I am now thinking that a damaged led probably in the lh repeater lamp is the possible cause so, I have a new repeater on order. Though I am unable to fathom why removing fuse 44 would negate this.
