[Wanted] Westfalia Swan-neck for L322

I'm after a receiver hitch like in the picture, as my recently purchased L322 is missing it.

Edit: I've now sourced a top section and now just need the lower detachable swan neck like this.

Part no. 323039

that is one version, but the original Westfalia swan neck tow bar that was standard OEM issue was the model below, and is on my 2011 car

the 2" receiver hitch has a downward tube connected to it, and then the swan neck connects up into that, it clicks into place using a black wheel and is lockable Smile

you can just see the 2" receiver behind the "downward tube"

and below is the downward tube adapter looking thing

I've heard those style of the detachable swan-neck are not as robust as often seize in place?

How have you found yours to be? 2006 L322 Vogue SE 4.2 S/C (no longer owned)

I use trailers regularly so never a problem for me, I detach the towbar when I am not towing, and clean it and store it in the cubby hole on the right hand side of the boot.

I can easily imagine people leaving it on the car for 15 years and having issues, like farmers and the like, but then they are never taking the tow bar off the car ( why would they ) , so a seized unit would not be a problem for those users Smile

Very true. I need it for towing and launching the boat so summer would see regular use but winter I'd take it off. Whatever I get will receive a healthy coating on ACF50 too Very Happy 2006 L322 Vogue SE 4.2 S/C (no longer owned)

On your recommendation I've now sourced the top section and I'm after a lower swan-neck receiver. Smile 2006 L322 Vogue SE 4.2 S/C (no longer owned)

Well I still have the swan neck.
Me, being a numpty, decided to take it apart for greasing.
I'm absolutely Censored if I can get it back together again because certain parts have to go back in precise order for the lock to work!
You can have it to see if you can work it out. Just pay for the postage.
You might not want to take the risk though.
It was a costly maintenance error and I had to buy a new one for my own sanity.
If it ain't broke don't fix it. Doh!!!

If you still have all the bits I'm willing to give it a go! That's a very kind offer.

I'll ping you a PM. 2006 L322 Vogue SE 4.2 S/C (no longer owned)
