Rear differential oil for “e diff” (If I have one)

I’ve looked through the posts on changing differential oil but I can’t find anything related to my issue.

I’ve read that my 4.4 TDV8 may have a rear “e diff” as it was put on some autobiography and supercharged models. Apparently the e diff needs a different oil to the standard one, my issue is how do I tell which rear differential I have as Land Rovers computer system is still down so I can’t check with them. Google image searches were no help, so my question is, what do I need to look for if I need to do a visual check? Or is there any other way of determining it?

Thanks in advance.

Put it into rock mode and if you have 2 padlocks on the dashboard speedo then you have the locker. Alternatively put your vin into vindecoderz and it'll tell you on there.

Rare as rocking horse Censored if you have it. I looked for 2 years and gave up.

@Jonester,

Yes you will in all probability have the e-diff.
Easy to tell the difference, the “open” diff has no wires or plugs connected to it, nor the actuator motor on top, like this:

The Wiki above has more information, if you search it. Thumbs Up V6 Vogue - “Less is More” - less to go wrong!

I’m hoping I don’t have it as the oil is more expensive lol Tbanks very much mate, greatly appreciated. 👍
