If you have side steps it can be helpful to stand on them and bounce the car (not whilst driving I might add!!). You might be able to tell whether it is coming from the front or rear and possibly which side. Bit easier than when driving, where I find it tends to be harder to see where it's coming from.

Thanks for the advice it does it when turning slowly and slowing down to stop it stopped for a day then came back I can only describe it as a squeak/clunk noise if that makes any sense |

yes but these are cheaper and easier to repair than the Touareg!! the final straw for me was thick end of £2k to sort out the rear brakes on mine.
