I'm not saying that my error = your error , just that what the error code reads is only an indicator of what to diagnose

The sensor screws into the rear of the air tank ( opposite end of the valve block ) under the sill. The manuals say the sensor is non-replaceable ( need whole new tank ) , but there is a seperate part number for it, and it just screws in.

For my fault, it would disable the air susp, and maintain normal ride height by bypassing the tank and inflating the airbags directly. I couldn't select heights though - it locked itself to normal. The bags have no leaks, and the pump only ran to topup / make adjustments. Now its fixed, I dont notice that the pump is running significantly more or less. The tank is filled up, it tops up air bags from the tank, then tops up the tank.

47p2 is correct in that if the system thinks its taking too long to fill, it'll throw errors as well.

Although from experience, if the pump is filling the air bag directly - its much slower to lift up than if its filling from the tank.

Couple of thoughts/questions sping to mind:

- is the pump running regularly to make top ups? ( to cover a possible leak )
- are you using the access height alot? ( from access height to off road may be more than a tank full to acheive - so its defaulting to the pump direct to air bag = slow ) V8 or else ...

Just to reignite this thread again, I was in my local Stratstone (Newcastle) today enquiring about a new air compressor unit.

I asked if there were any kits to refit the unit myself and was told that if I had a VIN starting 5A up over then there is a refit kit.

Im hoping my problem will be sorted if I fit a new battery because Im also getting my main lights flickering at night. Can anyone advise me about my lights ie could it be a battery problem?

have you got the headlight switch on auto, if so could it be a faulty switch/relay causing this..just a thought.. ... - .- -.

@Stan I don't have auto lights. Its my 2004.

@Simes I am going to try the battery first as the lights have been flickering for over 6 months. Could do with a new one anyway coz its a bit hesitant to start on the really cold morning we've had.

Stan the flickering moves from one side to the other, but last night driving home from work the were both flickering.

Fitted new battery today so I'll see what happens tonight.

On the original subject my air suspension seems more responsive now and going into offroad mode a bit quicker but I'll have to keep an eye on it

Just an update my lights were still flickering on the way home tonight but my suspension is def more responsive with the new battery

Not necessarily.

Mine used to fault with this error from time to time, yet it still managed to keep the car at normal height for 1000's of miles. The problem was actually the pressure sensor itself on the tank. It wasn't registering an increase in pressure when the system started up and did a pressure test.

The pump itself was fine and managed to pump the air bags directly. Just the sensor duff.

Have had this quite a few times on customer cars,,, Not too expensive either, if i remember correctly they are under £40...

Sorry, but all the parts are not for "under 40 GBP", because there is not only a pistonring..., it is incl new dryer, cylinder and pistonring, also new rubber o-rings..., if it costs under 40 GBP, I will order for germany 10 repair-kits )

@ Cam-Tech-Craig, sorry, of course you write about the little switch at the boiler under the right side of the RR, I had buied a new example here in germany for 50 €, but it didn,t help in my problem, therefore I "engeneered" the repair-set, and...
