just a heads up to check the condition of your tailgate straps..one of mine broke while me and the wife were standing on the tailgate and when inspected the strap was rusted through... ... - .- -.

me 16 stone, wife 10 stone , so we now know that rusty straps wont take that weight.. ... - .- -.

When I did the damped tailgate modification, both straps looked like they were nearly rusted through, so I replaced both sides. If I hadn't done the mod, I wouldn't have noticed the rust inside the rubber sleeve. Worth a look in my opinion. |

just to clarify and to dispel any dirty minded thoughts [mick ], my 16 year old had a flying experience flight so my wife and i stood on the tailgate to take pics of son flying....... ... - .- -.

i actually said to the wife minutes before the strap gave way that it would be funny if they broke..talk about tempting fate.. ... - .- -.

+1 when I did the damped mod on Sunday the original straps were fecked. The cables were ok but the bolts looked awful, so much so the left upper bolt needed creativity to remove! |
