Just looked at my build list and see this :

Dynamic Headlamp levelling

....but patently they don't, or is that some other magic?

DHL is Vogue spec and AFS is VSE & AB spec sir... Obviously could be spec'd as an option on all those years Thumbs Up

Still curious. My pre 2006 4.4V8 Vogue did the whole crosseyed thing, my 2006 4.2 and 2010 5.0 did too. This is 2007MY Vogue with Bi-Xenon lamps, so by law (I understand) it should be applying some sort of self levelling? So surely I should see at *some* point a test that it's working? I'm not interested in AFS tbh, I just want to know if my lamps should swivel up and down at least?

So - anyone else out there got a TDV8 3.6 with non-moving Bi-Xenon lights on startup? Land Rover Addict

Yes i believe all AFS models do the test as the ECU is looking for their angles NON AFS i.e. DHL lights don't do the test... I believe Confused

Cheers, my only concern being that the 4.4 didn't have AFS, but *did* do a light check..... Land Rover Addict

This seems to say DHL (Dynamic Headlight Levelling) and AFS are the same thing?

OK been out and checked on a 2006 "55reg" TD6 Vogue WITHOUT AFS and they don't go boss eyed! And i have also checked a 2007 TDV8 Vogue WITHOUT AFS and NO boss eyed again! Checked an 08 VSE and boss eyed Thumbs Up

Not conclusive proof as its just 3 cars but... Whistle

AFS still confused

Have read all posts relating to adaptive headlight operation, but not grasping it
my 2011 tdv8 autobiography build spec states I have Auto High Beam Assist - that works fine
also states i have Dynamic Headlamp levelling & Adaptive Xenon Headlamps - the cornering lights work fine
the headlights appear to be high! not sure what to look for to know that the adaptive / levelling headlights are working
being a little dim I cannot tell if the headlights move when driving
they don't seem to go " boss eyed" when turned on ( is it obvious when this happens ?) - no warning lights on dash when lights turned on
what should I be looking for ? could it be the AFS control module that many are saying they they replaced
