DPF Regen.

4.4 TDV8 MY12.

I noticed that my car was on regen for the first time ever today. I was arriving home and moving slowly and it sounded slightly more 'woofly' and had the burning rubber stink same as my Mercedes makes when that regens every week!

The car spends its life on the motorway and this is the first time I have ever known it to do it. Anyone know how often they tend to go through this process?

I think at higher speeds you just don't hear the sound. You probably only noticed it as you happened to catch it at low speed.
