Air suspension ECU module not working and system is inactive

Hi,
I've been having an issue with my air suspension ECU, and I was told it needs to be replaced by my technician. This is for a Range Rover L322 2008 model. The module I need to replace they said was RQT500181.
I wanted to know if I need to buy a brand new module or can I use a used one? I was told due to the programming it won’t be accepted by the vehicle system, but just wanted to check.
Thanks

Does it simply come up with the message 'suspension lowered' and the lights on the suspension control button stay unlit? If so...and I hope it is this, then you might just need to replace a relay in the fusebox in the boot..

I was also hoping that it was a fuse but after taking it to the repair center they said the air suspension ecu wasn’t working after testing. The control buttons don’t work or light up and the suspension is lowered to the bottom.
Is it possible to repair the existing ecu unit?

No, not a fuse! A relay! Your symptoms sound exactly like mine were....and for the cost of a relay (£6.00) it has to be worth a shot..

Have a read here...

Have a read here...it is a known fault...but not known by some garages/ specialists so it seems, who then diagnose it as a 'hard fault' because no lights are showing, when in fact it is just the relay.

Thanks, will check on the relay.
When I start the vehicle it shows ‘Terrain response system faulty’. It doesn’t give the message suspension inactive or suspension faulty. The service center for my vehicle recently did a repair on my alternator and replaced one of the height sensors.
Will get the relays checked for now but if it isn’t the relay, will a secondhand ecu from another vehicle work on mine?

They said the relays were working. Guess it’s the unit. Found a working second hand unit, will give that a try. Secondhand one should would be ok to install?

Ah ok...hopefully your new unit will sort things! I know very little about which units require coding in..fingers crossed it will just be a straight swap!
