So i got this info off rangerovers.net. But I'll share my experience.

Order key from http://www.autokeytransponder.com/Product_details.php?id=2329

When u get it bring blank key to a good security shop, like those places that sell safes, cctv etc.My locksmiths could not do it, local car key place refused and honestly laughed at me when I said what I was tryingto do.

Check new cut key works in door.

Put transponder wedge thing from old key into new key. Put new cut blade in. Put cable tie back on, don't glue anything till ur sure it all works. The flip key is fiddly cause u have to put it on the spring and wind it (you'll know what I mean)

Put in ignition, ( I thought it wasn't going to work cause the immobilser normally goes off as soon as the old key is ner the ignition. This took a few seconds till I turned the new key.

Go for drive to charge it.

Open close doors and proceed with the key programming sequence. Took a few goes, after each failed attempt I opened and closed the door to start fresh. After many tries, I heard that lovely sound of the doors locking. Bingo. All sorted.

I don't think that's with the internals tho? I had to tell them the mega hertz that i needed and that so I could use the remote part.

I paid about 50 USD for the complete second hand key (for the internals) and 12 GBP for the new empty housing. Switched the blade from the donor key to the flip key, same as the transponder. Used the flip key for a while to charge the battery, checked the battery voltage so now it is trying trying trying to get the door lock part working !

I have a NAS car so I ordered the remotes from the US (ebay) and they have the correct markings for a US/Canadian car by the way Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Im not sure bout these things but different countries have different frequency remotes, so the remote u have might not work with ur transponder module in ur car..??

I ordered a used BMW key for the inner transponder, has to be 433Mhz. I got a black flip key from the bay with the new blade (same style as the Range Rover blade (there are two versions).

You can remove the old transponder from the BMW key (8 legged chip next to the copper wrapped charger thing). To keep it charging you need to put a wire to bridge between to contacts where the chip was.

http://ianparsons.info/photogallery/3933.jpg

Pop the transponder from your old key in to the new one, make sure the buttons line up. test it well before sealing.

You should then be able to program the new key for door locking by doing the following procedure:

1. With all keys, get in the car and close all windows and doors.

2. Put working key into the ignition and turn to position 1 (the accessories should turn on)

3. Turn the key back to position 0 and take the key out of the ignition.

4. Using the working key, hold down the unlock button, press the middle button (lock button) 3 times, and release the unlock button. Doors should lock and unlock.

Repeat this with all working keys within 15 seconds of each other and they should all do the lock and unlock thing now.

This system keeps the charging option working so you will not have to replace the batteries. Tom

If u buy from the place I got mine all u have to do is transfer over the little black chip from ur old key , get key cut, reprogram..Pity they don't have any in stock..It fits in perfect too, some people worried the key cant get in far enough cause of remote shape but it's grand..

Lolo, so the electrics you got were for the flip key? You did not have to move a diamond key inner workings across? That makes things nice and simple, and you get to use all 3 buttons! How much was the unit, the site is out of stock so does not say. Tom
