Hi Daveo, and everyone else,

I am almost falling of the chair typing this, but the place I got the keys responded today and have said they are going to send out 5 blades of the wide type B format to me, but i will believe it when I see it!

I am away for just over a week in the States so I will not know till I return after next Monday.

so if you can all sit on the fence till then, I may save some costs on blades for all that waited,

will advise an update on my return, failing this working.... Daveo has a solution to get all the blades change for a nominal costs, still cheaper than buy a factory set one thats for sure.

anyone who does manage to get this to work remember the forum relies on posts with pictures step by step to allow other members to follow and acheive a sucessful mod, so remember the CAMERA!!

cheers

The only problem I have encountered is the fob won't stay glued closed, I have tried so many different types of glue! I still have the cable ties on just in case it springs open.. Thumbs Up

hi all, with reference to robbo's last post i will hang five on ordering the spare key blanks,he is away for a week but if you fill you still want one regardless then let me know.
don't forget if you try to sync your key you must sync your original key in the same operation or you will knock it out and it wont work..
with regards to gluing the two half's together i found that a good quality glue is a must and it will help to clean the two half's that will touch, even a light sand just to key up the plastic. i imagine that they some form of releasing agent on them when they were molded. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

Programming a new Key

Replacing a missing master key is quite expensive from Land Rover, try not to get sucked into the extra cost of "Dealer coding" You can do this yourself in 2 minutes by following the simple process below.

1) Get in and close all doors. Turn ignition on and off quickly and remove the key (all within about 5 seconds).

2) Within 30 seconds of turning the ignition off, while holding down the "unlock" button, press the "lock" button three times. Release the "unlock" button. (You may or may not get the confirmation from the door locks they should lock and then unlock.) Holding the key at your head level provides best results as the key sensor is in the side window pillar.

3) Repeat for each key you want to initialize within 30 seconds after the last one you initialized (if you have more).

4) Right after doing the last key, quickly put the key back in the ignition and turn it on/off again to

you may find it easier to do this holding the circuit board then you wont worry about if you have pushed the button correctly, some work first time ans some take several attempts but listen for the door locks to cycle then do the same on the original key V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

No force is needed. The blade pops out with the silver button thing still attached. Just make sure u dont lose the little spring inside. When ur putting the blade back in u need to wind it on the spring, so when u press the button it springs open. Hope that makes sense.

Maybe someone has a picture for u.

i think he is talking about the blade, yes there is a pin in side, one hole i slightly larger the the other so that's the hole it comes out of, you can use a nail or any thing pointed as when it goes in it will force the pin open and hold tighter, i use a link extractor as its a harden pin with a flat end fit in the hole 100%, now you need to get it firmly seated and flat, NO vice or pliers as you will end up marking the chrome blade holder, if you rest it on a bit of soft wood and start it of you will see it coming out of the bottom, once you have it started you can line it up over a hole and knock it out, do not grip it with pliers as you will crush it and it will never go back. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

Ok lads, seriously, it seems yous are making this harder than it is. Laughing

I know he was on about the blade. I just took out the whole chrome bit with blade still attached. Key can still be cut with that on it. Thumbs Up

hi all, to all those that had the flip key from robbo, could you check to see if you have both chrome corner to the remote, one holds the key and the other is if you want to fix to a key chain, as my one has only the one.... V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.
