tailgate straps

just a heads up to check the condition of your tailgate straps..one of mine broke while me and the wife were standing on the tailgate and when inspected the strap was rusted through... ... - .- -.

England 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Zermatt Silver

When I did the damped tailgate modification, both straps looked like they were nearly rusted through, so I replaced both sides. If I hadn't done the mod, I wouldn't have noticed the rust inside the rubber sleeve. Worth a look in my opinion.

2011 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Santorini Black

+1 when I did the damped mod on Sunday the original straps were fecked. The cables were ok but the bolts looked awful, so much so the left upper bolt needed creativity to remove!
