A word of warning for you guys using Swift Cover

In their small print they stated they will only pay a maxium of £24ph to repair your car if it's involved in an accident.

I was on that rate about 10 years ago and refuse to repair for them, so just bear in mind you may find it difficult to find a decent repairer in your area at that rate

TD6 Vogue on a '52 plate
45 years old
me and the missus - fully comp no claims protected
£771
I found a long time ago that you get what you pay for with insurance and that is why after 7 years I am still with Mercedes Benz insurance (underwritten by Aviva).
Took my FF away today to have all the stone chip damage repaired - courtesy of the council and Balfour Beatty - incidentally found out they have a £20k excess - and there's a minimum of 5 vehicles claiming ! Shocked
Got a very nice Merc c220 diesel auto on a 10 plate with 5k on it as a courtesy car Wink not as good as the FF but still nice Wink Beats having a Ford Ka with the garage details written on the side in the drive whilst mine is repaired Very Happy

I'm having problems finding anyine who can quote resonable for a new one. Problem seems to be once the value is over 50K not many want to know.

Have clean lisence, 20 years no claims, everything an insurer wants to hear !
Direct line seem about the best at the moment at around £800

I spent ages entering all the info into gocompare, only for it to come back saying "sorry, we can't offer a quote". That was from about 250 various insurers I think....... ??? Shocked
Swiftcover also couldn't quote because of the value.

I called Adrian Flux as they advertise as the so called RR specialist, but unbelievabley they quoted over £2 K !!
I just laughed and didn't call back.
They may be fine for older RR's, but definately not for a new one.

Looks like Direct Line it is.............

word of warning on all the cheap quotes, or any quote in fact - if you use your vehicle off road or to tow - as most RR owners do -check your policy you may not be covered in these situations

After hunting around I ended up with Admiral at about £650. Most other companies were quoting well over £1k as it will be parked in central London on road. Tom
