Yes ditto I screwed mine up.
A IID tool might clear the red but I don't have one.
I'm a town driver so not the bst dog candidate but still wondering why I got my yellow only six weeks later... Cheers, Greg

On the same theme, My DFP message came up to day as it has done a few times in the past - no problem. But this time my car has gone into limp home mode. Which I don't understand because the warning light is still yellow not red. I though it only went in to limp home mode if the warning light was red??

Can I still apply the same procedure to get it to regenerate (which to be honest going to be hard in reduced power because the car is gutless!) or am I going to have to visit a dealership to reset it ?

thanks
Neil.

well.... Censored
Now the motorways are quieter I tried another run to "regenerate" the DPF and now its gone from an amber warning to a red...."take to dealer". Big Cry

So I assume there is no way for me to regenerate it to clean it at this stage and a main stealer is gone rob me blind to do it for me?

Anyone know what they will charge?

Sad

I am probably tempting fate, because I have never had any DPF warning lights, but I am interested to find out just in case,
Has anyone managed to do a regen using an iid tool? Or is it a dealer visit when it gives a red alarm?

I guess so. Anyways it is well and truly non owner "regenerate'able" now.

I phoned my local dealer who said "it sounds like a sensor has failed"...mmmmmmmm Confused He didn't seem interested in what the owners hand book had to say about the procedure.

They can't look at it until next week Evil or Very Mad

Can't wait to hear what cock a bull story they give me when they hand me the bill.

Got the yellow DPF warning come today up so did a regen / clear-out-run.

I usually do it keeping the revs up - min 2000rpm, keeping it in 4th or 5th

Turns out that's not needed as Stan has posted earlier - this time tried simply 50mph-70mph (the 4.4 ticking over at 1200-1400rpm) and not retarding the gears.

Set the stopwatch as soon as I hit 50 and it cleared in just over 9 mins.

Shame it took me 45mins to get to a 50 limit road from where I live.

Greg Cheers, Greg

Got the yellow DPF warning coming home last night then tonight, on my way literally on the 40mph section of the Westway I got a RED TAKE TO DEALER warning before I got the the 50MPH section of the A40.

It's the nearest 50MPH stretch to me but I had to clamber through traffic in peak hour. I know to take a YELLOW seriously, I do one every 4-6 weeks and I just didn't act on the yellow quick enough.

I know the RED is dealt with by a dealer in the same way - 50MPH drive for a 10mins or so - but it's having the right tool - to unlock that from the ECU - maybe a PRO IIDTool or a Land Rover hard core diagnostic.

Does any one know ANY way I can trigger a forced regen?

Thanks, Greg Cheers, Greg

Ah thanks Stan, I never knew there was such a gadget.

I've emailed Pat at GAP in case there is some possibility there too.

. Cheers, Greg

Greg,
I think Pat may be able to help.
I can’t find the appropriate post, but am certain that someone on here contacted GAP and they were able to talk them through an upgrade (possible to their iid) which allowed a forced regen to be performed.

Brilliant thanks Stan & Mike.

Interstingly the £159 iCarsoft LR II LR2 V2.0 2nd Gen Land Rover Jaguar Diagnostic Tool says it does DPF regen:
The new 2nd generation JLR diagnostic tool from iCarsoft with more features and functions including DPF regeneration and reset, Oil service reset, Electronic throttle calibration, EPB service, Battery Management and Print data function

The IDTool is considered superior to iCarsoft - so I'm hoping Pat can help. .
