Has the Highway Code changed recently?

So on my drive to work today, irregardless of how many times I checked my mirrors and saw a safe gap, every time my indicator went on the car that was behind me to my left was attempting to pull parallell / t-bone me. I lost count after 11 times, but it has lead me to think that maybe there was a change in the Highway Code recently along the lines of:

Quote:
If you see someone trying to get anywhere and they have a reasonably nice car, act like a Censored and t-bone the Censored !!!

Worst was early this year when I nearly wrote off my RRS when some t Censored r I was overtaking at night came over the line towards me with no indicators on a country road forcing me to swerve off the road between a tree and a wall doing 60 Shocked

If we had been in a car or I had my summer wheels on instead of my M+S for winter it would have been messy - I managed to floor it and get back on the road in front of him - I was worried if I braked we would skid on the wet grass/mud Big Cry Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Australia 2008 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Rimini Red

I was heading south on the M6 some were in the midlands in the out side lane merrily doing the speed limit but passing the other traffic easily when a lowered and blacked out VAUXHALL MERIVA ffs pulled out and held station in front of me for about a mile and a half until the motorway went down to three lanes I couldn't pull in because the rest of the traffic filled in his gap and at the last second at the end of the chevrons he tucked back in leaving me two babies and a screaming wife with literally nowhere to go Shocked
Now I know it was deliberate but WHY ? 2008 MY Supercharged

TBH MW's i found towing the Twin with my FFRR they are generally OK with.

Drug dealers cars and all are different i guess Wink

I've had so many occasions where i'd be going along an empty dual carriageway at 40 for the limit with cruise on and on the inside lane and i would see a car ahead on a side road. it was like they waited until they knew i would have to slam on, and then pull out.... A lot would just nudge out enough to make your swerve and some would just fully pull out!!

After the millionth time i got sick of it and the last one that did it moved straight into the outside lane when he realised i wasnt braking and was stood on my horn(possibly why my low tone horn has failed!) i just think now if im in the right and in the car on my own i will weigh 2500kgs+ against any other car and see who comes out on top as i'm surrounded by airbags and a lot of metal i'll take the chance and if they want to comitt hari kari then so be it!! It would also be nice to see how easy a vauxhall corsa's front end comes off when its hit at 40+ by an FFRR.... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

This happens all the time, try driving an artic, or bus...

FOr instance, The gap left in front of a large vehicle on approach to a roundabout/set of traffic lights? That's the braking distance that the large vehicle requires to stop safely, not an empty bit of tarmac for other road users to pull into.

And of course being the professional driver I am, I have to anticipate that this will happen and leave even more braking distance, which means I'm more likely to get a vehicle shorten the braking distance, which means I have to anticipate an even bigger gap, and so it goes on, and on. Well you get the picture.

Do it when it's raining or icy and you're likely to end up with 38tonne of trunk up your arse!

Try driving in Aberdeen. it is honestly the worst place I have ever driven... think there is a different code up here..

1. When turning right on roundabouts - use outside lane, approach roundabouts in outside lane, cross into inside lane when on the roundabout then steer only slightly right to allow you to swing back into outside lane for your exit....
2. when on straight piece of dual carriageway, sit astride central lane marking and weave gently in and out with either indicator signal flashing, preferrably swap between signals every few seconds....
3. when entering a roundabout, all vehicles already on the roundabout must give way to you therefore leave it to the last minute to pull out and then drive as slowly as you can across their front forcing them to slam on their brakes. Preferably do this when traffic is queuing in your lane to prevent the same vehicle leaving at their exit.
4. indicating when pulling to a stop or turning at a junction is not necessary, avoid doing this to confuse other motorists.
5. in heavy traffic leave as much space between you and the car in front to ensure only one or two vehicles can pass through any traffic signals before they turn back to red.
6. where there is a dedicated filter lane for turning traffic and you are driving straight on, ensure at least 1/4 of your vehicle blocks the filter lane to prevent other road users turning.
7. when parking your vehicle on the street make sure you leave 1/2 - 3/4 of a vehicle length between cars and at the end of each marked parking zone to minimise the number of cars that can fit in the zone.
8. On a dual carriagway when you wish to turn right but the right hand lane is blocked by queing traffic, use the left hand lane to get as close to the junction before shoving the nose of your car in the smallest possible gap between cars and forcing your way into the queue, preferrably blocking the left hand lane in the process.
9. In winter when roads are covered with snow or ice there is no need for winter tyres or to adjust your speed or driving style. identify and use the steepest and fastest routes for your journey and use your ABS whenever you need to stop or change direction - that's what it's for after all.
10. For red nissan micra drivers - speed limits out of town are 35 miles per hour. In town they are 40 MPH, therefore please speed up when entering a built up area and ensure to brake and hold up traffic behind you when on country roads.

My indicators are on....I am coming regardless so give way !!!

At least you know where you stand Wink .

Joe, that's what I've resorted to. I'll let the insurance companies decide who is at fault. I pay a hefty premium due to my age anyway so if I write off a car and get some cash for a new one it's a bonus for me!

What I meant was that is how the continentals drive, and because they all do it, everyone knows the score. i didn't mean that's how I do it!

Me, I just chill, quite happy to sit behind a lorry at 50 until there is real space. Give everyone else lots of space because you just can't trust them these days, all driving too fast and too close (not forgetting my recurring dream about disappearing up the back of a white van in the FFRR - something Freudian about that I am sure!) .
