Thumbs Up done that
Stan Reims is a bit of a given as it's quickest way to bypass Paris which is best avoided unless you want to go then St Dizier and down to Versol if heading to Switzerland or down to Dijon depends on where you want to end up. Its all very nice. Mine was a blue one! Smile

United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black

Ive done many france trips, like the allseeingpie i did le mans last month, we regularly go to provence, driving in 2 stints with a stop in dijon, makes a nice stop and the kids love staying at the novotel.

I did and alps trip a couple of years back, broke the joirney into 2 but to be hOnest it wasnt neccessary. Arrived in dijon at lunch as we had got an early ferry. We could have coped with the whole trip easily.

Now the kids are a bit older i might risk provence in a oner. Late chunnel and plough on down over night. The would sleep fine swmbo would be grumpy though.

I worked out costs for family of four and with fuel, tolls, and chunnel costs were comprable with fluing and hiring a car. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Stan - We used to break the journey to Switzerland or Bordeaux but now find it less tiring to get an 06:00 Eurotunnel and drive in daylight with a change of driver every 2 hours and an hour for lunch factored in. The secret for us was earplugs and a pillow to enable the passenger to sleep!

Novotel Reims is one of the nicer ones if you want an overnight stay nearer to Calais on the way back. As already mentioned, avoid Paris at all costs!

We have stopped in Reims many times on the way there and the way back. We always stay at the Novotel's as they are pretty damn good. Clean comfy rooms and always have a nice restaurant. The one in Reims Tinquieux is amazing really, it has a champagne list of over 60 types, the food is beautiful and in the morning the buffet breakfast includes use of their Nespresso machine, I am in heaven!

Other places we have stopped are Dijon, Grenoble, Voreppe, Beaune. All good. Discovery 4 HSE
