Engine system fault

Hi,

Had a strange issue today. I overtook an old granny, foot to the floor, supercharger whining as normal.

Caried on at 60mph for a few miles and then the car made a 'bong' and and "Engine System Fault" came on the dash. Engine power was instantly reduced.

I decided to drive back home, then I stopped the engine, restarted it and it was back to normal. Drove for a few miles and it was fine.

The battery went flat in it the other day as the kids were watching a dvd, while i was talking to my mate at his garage.....they must have watched it for about an hour and the battery didnt have enough juice to turn the car over, so I jump started it. Could this have something to do with it?

It's a 2007MY 4.2 SC.

Cheers,

Paul.

the battery is a good place to start, also maybe the fuel pump if you had quarter or less in the tank... ... - .- -.

Thinking of getting one of these tools. Looking at a "Pro-scan" unit on flea bay. Anyone ever used one of these and if they are any good Question

these codes read by generic scanners are only the basic ones, which by law all car manufactres have to make accessible...the suspension ,hdvc etc codes are landrover specific codes and can only be read/cleared by dedicated obd scanners like the IIDTool ... ... - .- -.

All seems to be fine now. not had even a blip and done a few hundred miles since this happened. Couldnt have been some dodgy fuel from the supermarket or something could it?

I was hoping to make a claim on the warranty...oh well Smile
