Touchscreen frozen

My friend has a 4.4 v8 Range Rover L322 and the touchscreen has locked up with an orange flashing light, it occured once the battery went flat and was jump started. Tried pulling out the fuses, done a hard reset, took battery off and left half hour. Still same problem. Any suggestions? My friend is Big Cry gone fishin'

Dont jump start a FFRR! Sorry, but its a fact... Probably an ECU gone pop!

Thanks Craig, just had a look in the back and found some signs of condensation in the plug on the nokia phone unit. We are going to check the rest of it out. Will let you know. gone fishin'

Cam-Tech-Craig, why do you say don't jump start a FFRR? The reason I ask is because instructions on how to are given in my handbook and your contradiction confuses me as to what I should do if the need arises.

Simply charge the battery, yes if your stuck in the middle of nowhere and have no choice, then it is what it is! But if you have an option, always charge the battery because jump starting is like removing the battery from your laptop when its switched on... A no no... You may get away with it 8 out of 10 times...

We've had lots in with fried ECU's after jump starting which costs owners a fortune...

IMHO............

Hopefully its not an ECU but I would reitarate Cam - Tech Craig and try not to jump start this vehicles wherever possible. In my experience with the locked screen its usually been down to a break in the MOST fibre optic circuit. The bluetooth module is normally the first point of car. If you don't use the bluetooth or just want to elimate it you can buy MOST prisims from LR dealers for about a tenner. It just plugs into the fibre optic circuit in place of the module. If you have removed the faulty part the screen and other controls should return to normal operation.
If the dealer can't find the part number, let my know and I will get it for you.
Thanks

Hi, thanks for your reply, I am having difficulty finding the MOST prism that you mention, I have contacted a few suppliers and no one knows anything about it. Big Cry Any part number or advice where I can buy one would be a great help.
Thanks. Mike. (new member)
