Restricted Performance Warning

Other than the handbook stating 'contact the dealer' only clues wo why this would have just happened on TDV8 4.4 - my wifes car & she's stuck back of nowhere hence the Q

any guidance greatly appreciated

edit car won't go above 10-15mph

Could just be the DPF needs cleaning. If she turns it off waits a few minutes and then if all OK try to drive it in high revs for a while to clean it out...

On the other hand it could be a turbo problem but lets hope not:

We've been through the DPF 'clean' regime a few times with too town driving. Wife has managed to limp car home with lots of irrate drivers (even with hazards on) as she could get it above 12-15mph - now awaiting a laptop to find the error codes....

will update for all when known, hopefully a turbo pipe rather than an actuator or turbo...!!

Pretty infuriating to have these sort of issues with such a young car Sad Hope it is something small and easy to resolve. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

AA there now (via LR Recovery) plugged in laptop and they can't find any errors.

Not sure if AA have full access to all error codes??

seems it was an engine shut down valve which was faulty, didnt get to speak to mechanic as he's out on a test drive, but aleast it's not turbos Razz

Engine shutdown valve as in a valve that stops/opens the fuel flow to the engine ??

Had that with a Peugeot 405 once, the engine kept running after switching it off (the rubber seal failed. so fuel kept going towards the engine). Had to clamp the fuel hose to get it to stop till I fitted a new valve Smile Sounds like your problem is the opposite, the valve not letting enough diesel through to drive normally. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
