What is easy...??? Razz But no problem, you only need to screw out the both inbus-screws,, and pull down the handmade black nut, then put in the new one, and that it was. If help, no problem, also you can call me in CLEAR and SLOW slangfree-school-English language, so I can help you when you are fixing. Ok i removed all the trim today and it seems like the problem is that black nylon/plastic nut.
Poor design!
The motor is spinning the shaft freely but the nut has no turning effort just as if it has been stripped.
So, Meerbusch, can i get hold of one of these nuts from you?

Cheers.

Hi muffster, would say around 30 Euro incl. shipping in a little package with tracking number, it is half an hour work, but not in black plastic, it is grey nylon, and worked per handcraft, not per computer. If interest, send me your paypal adress, I send you an moneyasking. Regards, Uli L405 SDV8 2017 + Lancia Flavia Coupe 1964 + RRS L494 3.0 SDV6 + C220CDI Convertible 2021

Ok, i'm finally going to attempt this at the weekend hopefully.
I got a new part, thanks to Meerbush (soory for the late reply)
my problem is going to be getting access to the motor to fit the new nut.
I'm not exactly small and trying to cram myself into the footwell is not easy. So, how do i actually get in to remove the motor?

Thanks.

Gentleman, very easy job, believe me! You must build out the two plastic-shapes at the steering-wheel (3 screws), also the shape in the footroom at the pedals, then you can take a little inbus with (german word: kleiner Ratsche mit Gelenk und Verlängerung), and screw out the two inbus bolts not complete out, only 80%, then with a plastic-tool the spindle push down, and then the old nut out, and the new nut in, you will see it. Then the two inbus, and all will function with some oil-spray.

Happy X-Mas from germany!!!!!! Uli L405 SDV8 2017 + Lancia Flavia Coupe 1964 + RRS L494 3.0 SDV6 + C220CDI Convertible 2021

Uli, have you taken into consideration the RHD & LHD issue? What maybe easy on a LHD may not be on a RHD or is it easy on both?

@ Craig, is the same way, LHD or RHD, when you work this for the first time, it is half easy, but when you do it like I the 10th time, I could work without eyes in a dark car..., it is a construction-mistake!!! RR-stealers, also mine in germany don´t want fit my part. because they can earn on a complete column much more...., here I could help my RR-friends with a cheap part, read the german AUTOBILD newspaper, No.28/2012, or look in google: Ulrich-Hudetz Range Rover, there it is to read about the steerings....

Hello gain Uli.
Thanks for the reply, but at the risk of sounding like a real dumbass, I've. Got no idea what you mean by screwing out the inbus bolts!
