Squeaky leather......

Not a bdsm reference chaps sorry.....

Trundling round in mine over the last few days ive notices that i seem to have quite squeaky seats.

It sounds like the leather rubbing on the trim, does anyone have any recomendations what to use to stop the squeak? Bow down There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Hi
It sounds like the leather is very dry. i would do one of two things. Treat the leather with a good leather feed. Or secondly spray some silicone spray on a rag and wipe all areas over.

Both should do the trick Thumbs Up 2020 Porsche Panamera Turbo Hybrid (V FAST)

I had a similar problem with my drivers seat - it turns out that there is an edging trim that fits on the seat plastic where it rubs the leather - mine was missing it cost a few pence from a dealer and now no squeak. The silicon does work as does stuffing a j-cloth down there but in my case replacing the missing trim was the fix - now blissfully silent. Thumbs Up Geoff

I have this at the mo. From the drivers seat. I have the edging strip in place, as above, but the screw head has pulled through the plastic where the plastic side edge trim piece fastens on, so its moving about a bit, causing the noise...........

So could also be that...... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I was told that if you drive in just a G string smothered in baby oil this will feed the leather and stop any squeaks............................................................2 years later it still hasnt worked! One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching!

Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Might try the silicone wipe, im pretty sure all my edging trims are in place, wondering if its the passenger seat as it seems to happen with my missus in the car, when im in on my own i have the music turned up..... Wont let me have it on loud when shes in the car. Think its cos i wouldnt be able to hear the nagging....

Seats could do with a bit of leather cream over them tho. I have some auto glym leather cleaner and moisturiser. Somewhere, anyone got any better products....... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

To be honest, I've tried a few different leather cremes over the decades, and I'm back with good old Auto Glym.

A mate of mine who had an L322 mentioned to me that the leather has some sort of coating on, so you can do what you like with the cremes, it won't actually do anything.

I have yet to prove this theory, and clean with baby wet wipes regularly, and leather cleaner and creme every 6 weeks or so. But then I do have ivory leather........ 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Best solution I have found is to rub the edges of the plastic trim which touches the leather with candle wax, no more squeaks Thumbs Up

I have had the same issue.

I just put some black fabric tape on the back of the seat belt receiver and hey presto all sorted!
