Front bumper replacement

I had one of those god awful rubber bull bars on the front of my FF and have wanted rid since i bought the car. After recently parking the FF in the front wall of the in-laws, accidentally damaging the corner of the front bumper (you can just make out the black patch on the right in the picture), I ordered a 2nd hand bumper off flea bay. Ł110 in my colour with parking sensors and fog lights still attached.

I took some photos as I went and as it turned out to be a pretty straight forward job, i'll share with you and hope someone else can benefit from it.

As it looked:

1. I put the bonnet in to service mode, not really needed but i like the feeling of extra space.

2. Remove screws hold rubber Censored on:

3. Undo 2 screws holding front grill in place and remove grill:

4. Remove 4 screws behind grill:

5. Remove 2 screws holding valance to wheel arch both sides:

6. Remove 2 screws that are roughly either side of number plate:

7. At the centre of the bumper are 2 struts, no need to undo the 2 red arrow screws but i did anyway, just the white ones:

8. undo the 4 screws that hold the plastic to the car:

9. There might be a towing bar clip cover, but mine didn't so didn't have to take it off, just undid the screws:

10. Now with the help of a friend, or in my case a coffee making lovely wife, lift and pull off the bumper, taking extra care to undo all the fog light and parking sensor connectors as it could damage the looms:

11. I just reversed the process and now have a lovely new bumper without the cr8p black bull plastic. As an added bonus, now the black things gone, the parking sensors are now working Smile

New Zealand 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Galway Green

Had my bull bar removed as well and am currently chasing a new front bumper (with a little help Smile ) I hated it from the moment I got the car. On mine the ugly holes in the front fenders aren't helping either but it is still better than the ugly black eyebrows/beard/moustache Smile

Just looking for some kit to fill the holes and planning to stick silver reflective tape over it (planning to add some more reflective tape, black and silver anyway as it is quite useful here). MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

The parking sensors on the outside can be prized out without removing the bumper if you have small hands, same for the rear too. This process does look less scary than removing the rear one, as you don't have to prise anything off!

^ Unfortunately it's an inner sensor (I think as that's the only one that isn't making a noise)

My bumper has dropped about 1 cm on the drivers side so thanks very much for taking the time to do the write up, I'll sort it at the weekend
