07-09 indicator stalk to fit a pre-06?

I noticed that the 07-09 allows you to tap the indicator stalk and it gives a few flashes, a feature the pre-2006 models doesn't have.

If I fit this unit to my 06 will it work, is it in the switch or something in the ecu?

It's a function of the Light Control Module I think and not a hardware item.

The three flash option is programmed in the ECU (the LCM in this case) as far as I know. Maybe if you upgrade the LCM or the LCM software you can get it. I turned it on on my car and it didn't work. I do plan to update the LCM software if I get my bloody flash file loader working and there is newer software available. If that works, I will let you know whether the 3 flash works.

Edit: no update software for the LCM. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Are you sure it's in the LCM ?? I know that enabling this on a Discovery 3 requires a flash of the Body Control Module.

Thanks for the replies.

Guess it's a no go.

Shame, nice feature to have.
