FFRR. Only got it yesterday - Oil on the drive this morning.

Hi,

Just noticed this morning oil on the drive after the car being park overnight..

The oil colour is like new and about the size of two 50ps..

Looking under the car there is nothing visible.. But as the car was positioned it looks like on line with wheels towards the left side (Looking from the front)

Does anyone have any advise on what it could /might be.....So I can have a chance of getting the dealer to take it serious on Monday when I call them to let them know........

Pictures can be supplied if required...

Trev

If it was engine oil from a diesel, it would be black, so I'm not sure it is.

I had my car serviced and by the time I had driven home (5 minute drive), it was black. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Could be transmission oil leaking from the cooler. I had the exact same problem last month and it was a pig of a job to fix. Need to remove the underside cover and that will probably show where the source of the leak is Wink Cheers

Take a look around the rocker cover as it could be leaking from the gasket? 2009 Vogue TDV8 Nara Bronze

Also make sure it's not just clean oil where they have been a bit careless with an oil top up/ change. I've seen that before, when my mate thought he had an oil leak, explained that he had a very small, clean oil leak. After about 15 mins of checking all the usual places, all I could see was oil from this "leak" on the side of the engine. So we cleaned the engine bay, and hey presto no more leak. Thumbs Up Bushy

Most importantly check it's not brake fluid as that is a clean oil... And that amount on the floor could have catastrophic consequences...

Update .......

This morning the oil was 6 inches in diameter on the drive and had increased in 2 inches in size from over the weekend.. so getting worse....

The Garage diagnosis -The Drive Shaft seal has failed....... and they would need it for a couple of days..

I had the car for 3 full days......and had to let it go....

I am still smiling though as it is the best car I have ever owned..

Currently in a Fiat Punto.. Big Cry

Update 2...

Received a call this evening to say the car not be ready and probably wont be till next week, They ordered the wrong part, and the one they need is not in stock at LR till the weekend....

It would have been good to have it for the long weekend coming up.....

So, so far they have had the car longer than I have.. (3 days versus their 7)

Gutted... Big Cry And still got the Punto....... Rolling with laughter

When I finally get it back... It will get the

Car Mats - Sat Nav Disk - Kick Plates and Cargo Nets I have purchased in its absence.. Laughing
