Interior upgrade

Done the job today. Burr Walnut replaced with Grand Lacquer black.
Reasonably involved job, but its achievable at home.
I would advise a careful methodical approach.
I managed to do it without breaking any trim clips, probably by just taking my time.
Took about 4 hours to complete.
My FF is back in one piece.
Worthy of note is that you need to unplug Airbag switch in the dash end and unplug the Passenger Airbag in the dash top.
It is vitally important to follow the battery dis-connect procedure prior to this!
Serious risk of injury if an Airbag was to deploy whilst your poking around under the dash.
Here's a few photos to give you an idea what's involved:

I would very much appreciate a walkthrough on getting the dash top off if you have time.
I have vinyl wrapped the lower panels in Carbon and need to do the screen surround (I also did the side of the centre console). Looks great with Piano Black.
I can post a pic later if you're interested
Very Happy Geoff

Does the dash top need removed to get the panel above the gloveboxes out?

There's a piano upgrade panel available on Powerful that appeals, but stresses 'expert' removal and fitting.

Also, were all your items from Powerful or elsewhere? Si. <This is my name.

Supershuttle:

Press the button to open the upper glovebox ( where your CD changer is)

Important: Follow battery dis-connection procedure! Before unplugging Airbag switch!!

Dash ends first (powerfuluk vids very useful) two concealed screws at outer edges.

Black trim from above glovebox, has one screw under passenger dash end trim, it can then be pulled out directly towards you, when your sat in the seat looking at it. ( it has two or three clips at the very top edge so pull it straight out, don't twist it upwards.

Three silver screws behind it.

Centre air vents, gently prise out, with broad flat blade, I used a stainless steel spatula wrapped in a cloth.
Same with centre speaker grill - prise up at front then then lift and pull towards you.
A further 4 screws 2 under speaker grill, 2 under air vents.

Four larger black screws which are always visible on the top of the dash.

Dash top feels loose(ish) once all these are removed.

Put a piece of cloth around the triangular bit of plastic or it will scratch the plastic on your instrument panel, left hand edge of cluster (speedo).

Gently pull forward the dash top and lift at the front edge, above the glovebox, peek in and you can see two, thin metal flat supports which are fastened two the Airbag enclose in the dash top. Lift the dash top enough to slide in a bendy socket extension and remove the two 10mm bolts.
Unplug the yellow Airbag connector and the connector on the centre speaker.

You can then lift the dash top away, which gives access to the 4 screws that hold the Nav screen in place, two on the plastic surround and two behind the trim which screw down towards the floor, look behind the Nav screen trims.

I didn't unplug any of the Nav screen connections, just held it and took out the trim panel screws, one each side.

The trims that are along the edge of the centre console( transmission tunnel) gently pull up from forward edge, they're only on 3 clips,

The trims that run up the side of the heater controls, pull away at the bottom on two clips, then there is one screw at the very back of the footwell, remove the whole panel, there is 6 screws holding the trim in place on the rear.

Take your time if you need to remove the headlight switch its a very tight fit, there is lots of little clips at the rear side, patience required as you get one side unclipped, try to work the other side and the first side locks itself back in!

Have a cup of Tea

Reverse the process, making sure you have no screws left, clean everywhere you've touched and celebrate...

Open upper glovebox, remove passenger dash end, probably get away with leaving airbag switch plugged in, if your careful.

Bellini:
I got my trims used off fleabay other than the two dash ends i bought from PowerfulUK, brand new genuine items.
Long story!

For the glovebox trim panel, I would say its been stated as expert fitting, as you potentially would unplug the passenger Airbag On/Off switch.
More of a disclaimer I think.

I would play it safe, battery disconnect first, the dash end panel, can't see any other complications.

You got the side bits for the console, now that looks smart. Are they sold separately do you know? Geoff
