Seat Cover Removal

Have got a small split in the stitching on the rear seat bases - need to remove them and re stitch- has anyone ever donr this? Any tips?

The seat covers are a sort of mix between folded over and just plain tight fitting. Wear a decent pair of gardening gloves so you dont need stitches from any unseen sharp edges though. Rave / lrparts.ru diagrams are good for finding out where to unbolt the seats.
