Replacing belts on supercharged

I read the 'how to' in the wiki on radiator removal with interest as I was planning to replace the primary and secondary belts which requires uncoupling the viscous fan.

I had an exploratory root around yesterday to see if the task would be much different on the SC. I removed the engine cover and the air intake ducting only to find a maze of pipes and a manifold casting level with the top of the rad obscuring any realistic access to the fan coupling, tensioners and belts.

Has anyone had any success with this task on the SC who could share a few tips or is it just a major pain in the ****. 2014 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography & 2015 3.0SDV6 HSE Lux Discovery 4

Is it the plastic intake tube you're seeing near the rad? It's two jubilee clips and a tight fit pcv return hose. Easily removed, bit of a Censored to get back on. You can do the belts with this removed and it's not torque sensitive when you put it back on. You can remove the intake plenum but that's a bit of a sod and not necessary. Be prepared to skin knuckles doing it though ...

Thank you for your reply.

I removed the black plastic intake tube. As you sau, very simple. Undetneath are the web of cooling pipes that obscure the access. 2014 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography & 2015 3.0SDV6 HSE Lux Discovery 4

You have to unbolt the radiator and remove the viscous fan to do the belts. It's an arse but once done the belts are quite easy.

Agree. That presumably means draining the aircon as there is pipe across the top of the rad. 2014 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography & 2015 3.0SDV6 HSE Lux Discovery 4
