Sorry to drag up this old thread.....BUT

I'm suffering play in my wheel also. More noticeable when in a straight line but looking for some more info on how to remedy this. I note you tightened up a "bolt"?? which seemed to fix the issue but how do I identify said bolt..?

Do I need to put the car on a ramp to get under it or can this done from above.? Any clues what to look for as I've never dug deep into the engine bay and am a bit lost.

Steering column to steering rack has a universal joint (like a CV joint in a drive shaft) It slides over one another then there is a securing bolt that clamps the two together tight. You can definitely see said item by removing the OSF wheel arch liner (quite a simple job whilst car is in off road height on the floor )

I'll give it a look today if I can. It's not a big problem but a little annoying having to correct said steering on a long journey.!

Probably easier if you know someone with a ramp... But if not, above is the easy DIY way sir
