Hi,

The headlining on our tailgate is just sticking out beneath the rubber seal (on the image you can just see the yellow foam edge of the headlining). It's not bad, all actually seems fairly secure and only about 12" is affected. Does anyone please know how I can 'clip it back in' or fix it?

Mine is the same - was gonna get some double sided tape onto the edge but never got round to it.

Mines exactly the same as that! I keep meaning to sort it out, a simple prodding back didn't work  Present* 2006 Santorini SC Vogue SE.

Main dealer was going to do it but said didn't have time as was a full headlining off and back on again which seems a bit OTT and if so... It's not that bad!

There is a clip in the centre of the roof lining... just a couple of inches back from the rubber seal... It slides into a reciever bonded to the roof liner then that intern pushes into a hole in the roofskin

They are made to pop open very very easily when the airbags deploy

Ahem so I located and unclipped the clip! There is a black plastic sheath attached to the inard of the headlining and I managed to free it from the white plastic clip that is fixed into the metal roof... There is no play forwards or backwards with the headlining. So how does the black sheath slid/ clip back onto the white clip please?

Found this info by searching the forum re 'headlining' keyword:

"... Dan (Duckworths) sorted me a new clip [if your clip is broken].

In the centre its two parts - a metal U shaped piece with teeth and a plastic T shaped piece which attaches to the headlining. It really is a two minute job.

I removed the rubber tailgate seal first, then fit the new clip and pressed the headlining into place. The rubber tailgate seal then covers the edge of the headlining. "

I have a similar problem and my clip is broken.

From what I can see the clip is a "push" / "thump" fit given there is no movement fore or aft.

It also seems that the headlining was glued in some way to the boot seal.

Some DIY needed to give more support, perhaps some small blocks with "sticky fixers" either side to provide more support either side of the fixing clip, and some decent contact adhesive around the boot seal, then support to hold all in place while it all dries. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember
