injector overflow as in ''a flooded carb'' ?

No i am referring to situation when injector/s because being faulty
allows all the fuel throughout causing massive rail pressure drop - with no start as result
Wink

moreover it can leak outside as well as inside
(the inside leak wont be detected by leak off test)

Sorry, I have no idea what you mean by that sentence, if indeed it is a sentence.

not pouring chemical int the tank and prayer

So what your trying to say is go for the most expensive solution first and then pray.

Not wanting to be shot down in flames here but...
If I remember rightly BMW diesels did suffer from hot start problems. I have a 320TD Tourer with the same issue although I've never bothered to get round to finding out what my exact fault is. It starts within two turns when cold yet takes 8+ when warm or hot.
I did read on BMW forums 320D and 330D in similar situations as mine and in addition to faulty fuel pumps, cam shaft sensors were also found to be blamed on occasions. Maybe worth looking into this internet wise. I am no mechanic by a long shot - but I read you can test it when hot by spraying some freezer spray on the sensor and see if it solves the problem.

Cheers

I have a lot of respect for other people personal experiences and opinions

unfortunately have not heard many of them in this thread

No i am opting for proper diagnostics and repair

instead of wasting time for so called injector cleaners

even if its cheap its pointless

prayer is not required if you do it my way

most expensive solution

i am sorry was not realize leak off test i am opting for is so expensive

adigorn, we could go on like this but at the end of the day I'll leave it to you to make an ar$e of yourself. Most people contribute to the forum without being quite such an unpleasant keyboard warrior, but feel free to continue and maybe there'll be a special category in the 2013 full fat hall of fame, just for you! Smile

Thanks guys for all of this - I'll feel bit more informed when I take the RR to the mechanic after New Year. When I mentioned to him he did say about checking the sensor and trying a fresh one to see if it made a difference. That not on the BMW experience is definitely worth following up as it is bound to be documented somewhere on their forum. I'll post how I get on by mid January - what a time of year to be incurring bills on my RR Confused

Happy Christmas all Smile

I had the same problem a few years back on my X5.

I changed the cam shaft sensor and all was good.

Thanks for that advice - how much can I expect to pay for a camshaft sensor?
