Steering wheel extension / spacer ?

Anyone know if you can get a steering wheel extension or spacer ?

With my seat in a position that my legs are comfortable in, the steering wheel is just not close enough to me, even on full extension.

If I position the seat so the steering wheel is right.( ball of hand on top of steering wheel with straight arm), i feel like my throttle leg isn't right .

At the moment all this leading to back pain

Ideally I could do with the steering wheel closer to me so wondered if anyone supplies a spacer .

It's usually something more for track cars

I'm really struggling to get a good seat position in the range rover, currently bordering on he most uncomfortable car I've had ref driving position . My back aches after a drive

The car it's replacing is a 2011 BMW 7 series which has a great driving position and superb seats. Even my M3 CSL with fixed lightweight bucket seats has a better position

the FF seats are comfortable but i agree they are different from normal car seats..i'm sure if you play around a bit more with the settings you'll find a good position. ... - .- -.

I probably wouldn't try to add a spacer but I have to agree that I would prefer the steering wheel to be further out so that I could stretch my legs. I have spent many hours trying to get the right position and in the end it is a compromise. Not a major problem for me but I'm sure many of us could do with an extra inch Whistle 2012 5.0L S/C

I can't quite get my head around this one ?
I'm a six footer and sit as low as possible in the car (not on the floor !) and stretched out - no problem ?
Later seat design has been mentioned before by others - maybe that is the problem ?
The only car I've found as comfortable for adjustment etc were the 850/V70 Volvos we used at work. Nothing but the FF has come anywhere near close yet !

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

I'm 5'11" , normal sized person ( I know I'm not an odd shape when I got my bike frame hand buillt for me Very Happy )

I think its better if I have the seat raised higher .. usually I have my eye line with the centre of the screen

As said above , if the wheel was an extra 1" or so closer it would make all the difference.

As it is , I've just done 40 miles this morning for the school run, & I'm now sat at my desk with lower back ache .

I've never met a chiropractor who wasn't: -

a) useless
b) clinically insane.

Sorry to all the good chiropractors out there, but I've had much more success with osteopaths.

I sympathise 73vse. I like the wheel close also.
