If its the passenger one then the spring has snapped/gone. Easy to remove by taking the end panel off and undoing one bolt - will just slide out. Very expensive new, but I found one through one of the miriade of used parts websites for £10. Current Fleet:-

they can warp from the heat and stick, if its that and the spring is intact it can be fixed, well i have done about 6 or 7 now... V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

Mine was warped slighty and would not slide, I took the hole unit off and thinking it was the spring, it was ok but was the plastic bits that slide out for the cup extention part had broke. a bit af repair work and some filing down the sliding mechanism and now works a treat.

mine was broken and full of hot chocolate when I bought it. I tried and tried to fix it. spring mout broken, it now works but doesn't pop out, so if I put a small knob on it, it will pull out, this is easier than pulling £80 out of wallet. looking out for a small knob. hee-he! |

Actually I am now think this little cog should be spring loaded, driving the holder out when tension released and tensioned by being pushed back in. Anyone able to shed some light?

The cog goes in the cog sized hole and runs on the teeth inside |
