Many on here recommend the 110Ah battery as it'll give you by far the largest electrical boost during winter. I cannot comment as it's something I have never done.

Bosch S5’s are starting to get a reputation for failing prematurely on all models of FFRR sir... There are plenty of threads on here covering it...

I called Tanya batteries beforehand and they gave me some story about needing to know all my details before they could disclose the discount price which was £4! This took the price all in down from £90 to £86.

Aren't the genuine JLR batteries made by Varta anyway, it says it on them? Varta and Bosch batteries all made in the same factory? The JLR batteries don't come with a 5 year warranty though do they? Only the standard 2 year parts warranty, so if a JLR battery fails at 3 years old that's ok buy a new one, but a Bosch S5 failing in 3 years would be premature as they're supposed to last 5 years. But you get a free replacement. |

I think the 110Ah ones are fitted not for the extra cranking power, but for the extra equipment fitted. I suppose they envisage the TV being watched, or radio being played with the engine off. Powering all that entertainment system takes a fair bit of battery. Using the parking heater takes a fair bit of battery too. The Petrol and Diesel models had the same 95Ah battery from the factory, with an option of a 110Ah. |
