Retrofit heated steering wheel?

Anyone know if its possible to retrofit a heated steering wheel to a ff that wasnt equipped with it from factory?
My dads thinking of buying a germany imported 3.6 -08 but he wants the heated steering because of our nordic climate...

I can't see it being hard to retrofit the parts... Your biggest issue maybe changing the CCF...

Are they not equipped with them as standard in Germany? I think HSE and above all have them as standard in the UK.

My 2003 HSE has a heated steering wheel so yes it is possible.
Can't tell you how to do it as I bought the car with it already installed.

Mate just bought an aftermarket heated wheel for his HSE and has managed to get it working (think the original button on his old wheel turned on the aircon so there is still power going to that button location, just tap into that!) Dan

The heated steering wheel is controlled buy a small Ecu under the airbag it's not just a switch and a power supply. Non heated steering wheel vehicles use the heated button to turn on the air circulation.

You will need the slip ring cassette from a vogue as there are no connections in the one fitted to the HSE, also a relay which is fitted into the back of the fuse board in the glovebox and the switch pack on the steering wheel.
