changing the ride height settings on the p38 is really easy.there is a cable you can get usb/obd2 on ebay for about £12 then download the unlock suite from rsw solutions and away you go.you can change the values/heights in all height settings so access can be completely on the stops

P38 is perfect now height wise got the lead and freeware, but its the l322 l am struggling with to get in. But now l have the compressor rebuilt, the boot full of water, all 3 washer pumps seized, loose front end, no main beam, central locking on pass door inop, oil leaks from both rocker covers, no main beam, disco led lights when all lights are off, half a working stereo system and a broken cup holder. I have a few little jobs to do beforehand. But still l own an l322 which in 2001 l saw on the back of car transporters thinking one day...... One day. So still smiling at the mo. Get it fixed, 12 months ticket then it can be driven to an independent for the ride height.

Ok it's up update time finally got the car on the road and as you all suggested bought an iid tool it lowered the suspension by an extra 40 millimetre just on the access height and is sitting at the similar height to my P38 plus I got the added advantage of a tool to tell me what's wrong when it goes wrong which I know it will......
So a big thanks to everyone out there for all your help and advice.

Hmm, I think I'll be getting the IID tool out. We need to be able to get guide dogs in the back easily. The P38A was easy. You try lifting a 34kg labrador into the back of an L322! Laughing Ron B. VK2OTC

I had a ramp for my GMC van to let the dog in and out. There is a post about such ramps on here because even on the bump stops you will find it's quite high I suspect !!

Glad you got the access height adjusted to a height that suits you better !!!

I'm wondering if there is a turning issue at such low access height as I seem to remember that in transport mode (how it leaves the factory for transport) the suspension is also supposedly on the bump stops and the speed is limited to something like 25 kph or mph. I expect that the wheels are still clear of the fenders at that height................ MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Hi, yh the wheels are still clear of the arches and no issues if l forget to raise when pull off, compressor runs longer than normal to get it back up to std height, but l was reringing the p38 every six months anyway as l use the access height every time so was expecting it. I think.if you keep std spec wheels on then even on the bump stops it should not cause fowling, my p38 was lowered to the bump stops, so as long as original spec wheels l think land rover have allowed for wheels to clear, lets face it under extreme off roading you could have one wheel at maximum and one on the bump stops, cross axled.

Covbandit, that's nice and low. Looks like I'll have to get one of those iid tools, as wifey has a new wheelchair coming, it's heavier than the one we have now, so also got to upgrade the hoist in the boot.
I think the frame attached to the car is standard, but the arm and motors need to be a bit beafier.
must admit I get some audience's and puzzled looks off some folk.
it ain't easy being disabled, glad you're sorted, and well done.
Greg Thumbs Up
