Has anyone had any luck fitting a 020 AGM battery to a 2011 TDV8 ?
Since I got the car 6 months ago I've had the "low battery" message on odd occasions but as it started fine after standing for 3 weeks when I was on holiday and there were no other problems I wasn't concerned.
As the car is now 5 years old and looks to have the LR/Varta original AGM 95Ah battery fitted I want to change it (I see batteries as a consumable and think 5 years is enough - it's not a lot of money to buy some peace of mind!).
I fitted one to my previous 3.6, it was a bit tight but it went in but this looks tighter again, searching the forum and asking around plenty of people seem to think that it "should" fit but I can't find anyone who "knows" that it will.
If anyone has done this could you advise which make of battery it was as I suspect there will be very little between one that will fit and one that wont.
I don't mind lots of unbolting things to get it in but I'm not keen on chopping lumps off the battery or car, I would hate to buy a 019 if the 020 would fit or even worse buy a 020 and not be able to get it in!

I have bought an 020 to go in..I will let you know how I get on.

I have also bought an 020, and fitted it. Unfortunately, the battery terminal wouldn't fit. Seems the 020 is too long...

For reference, it was an Exide AK1050 (or EK)

Thanks gents - one says yes (even if it isn't an AGM) one says no so I'm still just as confused

If someone with the experience of Mikey couldn't make it fit I doubt I'll have much chance. It's all down to Rambles now, if you can make it fit I'll give it a go, if not I'll have to settle for a 019.

Th battery dimensions seem very critical. 350mm long is around the max, and an 019 fits the bill perfectly

Just need to find one with a higher rating than the JLR offering

393 mm is the length of the 020.

I guess I will be sending it back if too long.
But it is the same dimension of the regular lead acid people install in pre AGM FFRRs.
Many have successfully installed these.

had a look at the bits bolted to the battery today.

it seems pretty much the same as the 3.6? in which case i managed to get an 020 size to fit by cutting off the bottom end bracket with a handsaw. Went in fine then.

Dont forget according to the WM the car needs telling if its had a new AGM fitted regardless of wether it has had one in previously. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Im in need of a battery. Currently has an OEM varta AGM batterry installed, however I can work out what size it is. Been reading conflicting info around what will fit.

Same predicament as Cass, I would hate to buy a 019 if the 020 would fit or even worse buy a 020 and not be able to get it in!

Has anyone had success with the larger of the two batteries?

The 020 is physically longer and is rated at 110AH, the 019 is rated at 95AH.
I was a coward and took the easy option and fitted a new 019, after doing the job I doubt I could have got the larger battery in without some serious messing about

I tried the 020 in another FFRR, and it still didn't fit

By this point, it was too late to return it, and seemed a very expensive door stop

So, I took out he 2 month old 019 from my Defender, and put the 020 in its place, and put the 019 into the FF
