DAB : First time I have had this in a car and I have never made a journey ( usually 30 mins ) without the signal being lost and I have to pick another station. Dealers say it is normal as DAB is fairly new and the transmitters are minimal..is this normal ?

Sub Woofer : Been in garage 4 times for this so far, it doesn't work, adjusting the setting on various music types doesn't make any difference, it has had a new speaker and new DAB module, does everyone elses notice a difference when they whack it up to full...just checking as it is going in again in a week for them to try again...any advice / experience greatly received : Cheers ..Jeff

if you pick a national station on the dab then you can listen to it across the dab network...pick a local one then you'll loose it when you go out of range...

Thanks, I have chosen national ones and it does the same, not as frequent but you get that crackle, then it goes off...if you wait it comes back but think I would rather use normal FM, appreciate the reply...

dab is the same as digital tvs in regards to reception, go in between buildings or drive into a dip and the signal goes...

Regarding the sub woofer, I was convinced mine was on the blink until I moved the fade more rearwards. Some songs the sub is noticeable but others the front speakers seem to take over......depends on how the track was recorded?

I've not tried CDs yet but the sub worked well with R2 DAB; I mostly play playlists from an old iPod Classic which I have set for added base.

I discovered recently that my Sub was never connected...ever but you'd never have known... It sounds to me that the sub is running on a very low frequency, that would cause it to not notice as much as you'd expect... try playing some Drum n Bass and see how it goes If that don't make it work noticeably then it's fubar'd  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

I thought my sub woofer wasn't working and also got it checked. Turns out it works differently to older models. It doesn't seem to work for low volumes. Needs a bit of welly to get it going. For'easy listening types like me this is a pain. Always sound tinny.

I gave the sound a bit of a blast at increasingly high volumes and that seems to have helped 'break in' the sub.

I agree moving the fader back helps. Also turn up the bass a little in relation to the treble. The clarity of sound is excellent but it just doesn't have the bass at low volume.

In summary the sub is much less noticeable than on older models. 2012 5.0L S/C
