Bear in mind that that hole is actually the detachable tow bar storage hole

If it has a BMW part number on it then the BMW part must be compatible.

61 35 6 908 767 has now superseded to 61 35 6 955 253, seem to be available for about £120.

The Land Rover part is YWC000840 and looks to be sold for about £55.

So the BMW one isn't cheaper!

The BMW ones come up more often on eBay - thefore tend to be cheaper.

I've not seen the RR ones go for less than about £75, with the odd exception of course. Whereas the BMW ones go for around £30-£50

Just kidding. I have the Lidl charger (actually think I purchased it at Aldi - none of those in the UK? - but it's going to be the same thing) and I also have the Ctek. I'm pretty sure the Lidl/Aldi is made by Ctek. If not, they've copied it down to a T. Works quite well. My Ctek cost €65 and the Lidl/Aldi cost €12.99 here as well. The Ctek crapped out after 1.5 years and the Lidl/Aldi is still going strong after 2...

I run an optmate charger through the towbar electrical connector. The optimate has been charging my bikes, cars and leisure batteries for more than 15 years. Can thoroughly recommend it  Ian

And... does it cost more than 12.99?

I imagine buy a plug off of ebay for a couple of quid for the accessory socket (S) and then wire the charger into the perm 12V.

 

What dan said + i bought an optimate extention lead and a 13pin euro plug to match me electrics, wire it in and job done. Then the optimate is still usable for all those other toys in the shed. Ian

Had Optimates for years and they just seem to do the job and work forever (wait till tomorrow when I go out to the bikes and all's dead).

I thought it was only italian bikes that were fitted with the equivalent of a PP9

Assuming the Optimate is up to the job of maintaining the FFRR battery, I'm going to order the weatherproof battery attachment and use that I think. Should reach down to the front grille and plug it in through that.
