2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Mariana Black

2010MY Amp Upgrade

Oh wise and worldly lot...

In my old 54 Plate, the very kind Baris performed an amp upgrade for me and it made a massive difference to the sound. Does anyone know if a similar upgrade is available for the amp in my 2010 MY Full Fat..?

Any one else done anything in this area to upgrade the system??

It could be but it distorts quite a lot at those levels. I could do with a bit more 'umpfh' with bass etc at higher volume..

Just not sure whats possible without ripping it all out and replacing with aftermarket (which I don't want to do) Ash

wait till you get older...AM sounds good then

just a thought, is there a difference between FM and DAB cos there might be a problem with one or the other.. ... - .- -.

the 1200w is V E R Y adequate, I think I read someone here upgraded.

I had the stage 2 Baris upgrade in my TD6 and it was well good.

I have the standard 900w in my Vogue SE and want more....

I got the part number for the 1200w amp but need to know if it’s a straight swap, wiring wise.

According to the reading, there are 5 extra speakers in the 1200w system, but they been a bit cheeky, as there are 5 of the existing speakers that have a extra coaxial speaker in the same unit....centre dash....rear door lowers and the 2 at the side of the top tailgate, which only seem to work with the surround on, which is not suitable for normal music CDs..... so I recon the amp swap would give you pretty much an HD system as per the top option.... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

As above...I thought they said Logic7HD on the speaker grilles and had a silver trim round the bottom speaker as below.......

.....but when I’ve just looked now, there are some on the trader without the HD symbol but the silver trim on the lower speaker.... mmmmm

The silver trim means it's a autobiog. Nothing to do with the sound system.

HD was not std on AB's, at least for 2010 and 2011 It was std Westminsters though. Possibly std on 2012 AB's.

That makes more sense then... the ones I’d seen so far always had both together.

I know the part number in the pic above is the 1200w amp, but there may be others.

I don’t know the part number of the standard amp though.

Need more info to ensure the correct amp is purchased, and I think you then need a diag tool to set your car options in it, but again, this is not confirmed..... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8
