Yes, firmware updates free via a programme you can download to your computer which will handle updating the IIDTool itself. Up to you how often you do it I guess - I took a few updates when Patrick was testing out something for me, but I've left it alone since then just because it did everything I needed so far.

Digital dash speed readout was one of my first things too - just make sure you have a full battery and/or a decent charger connected before you start doing too much with the CCF especially, as the vehicle battery doesn't last long when you start playing with your IIDTool!

Correct. Log in ti GAP on a PC or Mac, plug the IID tool in with the USB cable and download the latest update from GAP. I probably do this a couple of time per year. ______________________________

Rob,
I activated DRL’s on my 2011 a couple of months ago, but from memory it’s in .. Live values...Untested values.
Be aware that you will loose what I will call menu set options, ie... clock/date settings. Forward alert, speed warnings settings etc. They will all need resetting on completion. Also for some reason or other I lost the mirrors auto folding on locking setting, which Craig told me how to reset. All simple to reset, but a pain.

I might be answering my own question here but I have the non BT tool for my 2002 TD6. Im planning on buying a 59 plate TDV8 this week and was wondering if i need to buy another IID tool or will mine work?

Shopping the IIDTool BT from Europe?

Hello gents
I have been reading through quite a number of posts here, but haven't been able to find out if there's a suitable online store recommended by the esteemed forum members that ships from a European warehouse. I'd love to avoid the hassle of import duties and the like, if possible. Any continental option you would be able to point me to? TIA, AZ

Unnecessary quote removed

I just bought one direct from GAP as they do an exchange service for the old units. I was charged £54 by DHL.

My BT IID has just arrived and I've plugged it into my laptop to update it. However, nothing is happening. I don't have an activation code that I can see, so have I got to email GAP for this info?
